Best lounge-first strategy for a long layover at Istanbul Airport?

I have a long connection coming up at Istanbul Airport and I want to optimize the stop around shower access, quiet, and one decent meal rather than just wandering.

What appeals to me here is huge route network and city stopover potential, but I have also heard complaints about very long transfer distances.

If your goal is to feel human again before the next leg, which lounge strategy actually works best here?

At IST, the best lounge plan is usually the one that minimizes walking and queue risk, not the one with the fanciest marketing photos.

I prioritize shower, seating, and outlet access first. Food is a bonus unless the layover is truly long.

If very long transfer distances is common that day, I would pick the “good enough and nearby” lounge over the “best on paper” lounge every time.

The big win is leaving the layover less depleted than you arrived, not just visiting the highest-rated room.
