I have a long connection coming up at Vienna Airport and I want to optimize the stop around shower access, quiet, and one decent meal rather than just wandering.
What appeals to me here is easy airport train link and manageable size, but I have also heard complaints about late-evening transport assumptions.
If your goal is to feel human again before the next leg, which lounge strategy actually works best here?

At VIE, the best lounge plan is usually the one that minimizes walking and queue risk, not the one with the fanciest marketing photos.
I prioritize shower, seating, and outlet access first. Food is a bonus unless the layover is truly long.
If late-evening transport assumptions is common that day, I would pick the “good enough and nearby” lounge over the “best on paper” lounge every time.
The big win is leaving the layover less depleted than you arrived, not just visiting the highest-rated room.
