Best way to handle a 6-8 hour layover at DFW (DFW)?

I have a medium-length layover coming up in Dallas through DFW and I am trying to decide whether to stay airside or build a simple routine around food, a walk, and a solid reset.

The upside seems to be big network reach and easy Skylink movement. The downside is long gate distances without planning.

If you had this same stop in North America, what would your actual playbook be?

DFW is one of those airports where a medium layover can feel great if you choose one goal and stick to it instead of stacking too many mini-plans.

I would decide based on whether big network reach is what you care about most, because once long gate distances without planning kicks in the stress rises fast.

My rule for a 6-8 hour stop is one main activity, one decent meal, and a very conservative buffer back through security.

If you are even slightly unsure, I would bias toward a calm airport routine and save the city run for a longer layover in Dallas.
