I have a medium-length layover coming up in New York through JFK and I am trying to decide whether to stay airside or build a simple routine around food, a walk, and a solid reset.
The upside seems to be strong premium cabin options and good lounge quality. The downside is traffic making city trips unrealistic.
If you had this same stop in North America, what would your actual playbook be?

JFK is one of those airports where a medium layover can feel great if you choose one goal and stick to it instead of stacking too many mini-plans.
I would decide based on whether strong premium cabin options is what you care about most, because once traffic making city trips unrealistic kicks in the stress rises fast.
My rule for a 6-8 hour stop is one main activity, one decent meal, and a very conservative buffer back through security.
If you are even slightly unsure, I would bias toward a calm airport routine and save the city run for a longer layover in New York.
