Best way to handle a 6-8 hour layover at Suvarnabhumi (BKK)?

I have a medium-length layover coming up in Bangkok through Suvarnabhumi and I am trying to decide whether to stay airside or build a simple routine around food, a walk, and a solid reset.

The upside seems to be strong food value and good stopover upside. The downside is city traffic returning to the airport.

If you had this same stop in Asia, what would your actual playbook be?

BKK is one of those airports where a medium layover can feel great if you choose one goal and stick to it instead of stacking too many mini-plans.

I would decide based on whether strong food value is what you care about most, because once city traffic returning to the airport kicks in the stress rises fast.

My rule for a 6-8 hour stop is one main activity, one decent meal, and a very conservative buffer back through security.

If you are even slightly unsure, I would bias toward a calm airport routine and save the city run for a longer layover in Bangkok.
