I have a medium-length layover coming up in Taipei through Taoyuan and I am trying to decide whether to stay airside or build a simple routine around food, a walk, and a solid reset.
The upside seems to be good food options and comfortable terminals. The downside is late-night transport assumptions.
If you had this same stop in Asia, what would your actual playbook be?
TPE is one of those airports where a medium layover can feel great if you choose one goal and stick to it instead of stacking too many mini-plans.
I would decide based on whether good food options is what you care about most, because once late-night transport assumptions kicks in the stress rises fast.
My rule for a 6-8 hour stop is one main activity, one decent meal, and a very conservative buffer back through security.
If you are even slightly unsure, I would bias toward a calm airport routine and save the city run for a longer layover in Taipei.
