Best way to handle a 6-8 hour layover at Zayed International (AUH)?

I have a medium-length layover coming up in Abu Dhabi through Zayed International and I am trying to decide whether to stay airside or build a simple routine around food, a walk, and a solid reset.

The upside seems to be comfortable long stops and strong premium experience. The downside is assuming lounge access is simple without checking rules.

If you had this same stop in Middle East, what would your actual playbook be?

AUH is one of those airports where a medium layover can feel great if you choose one goal and stick to it instead of stacking too many mini-plans.

I would decide based on whether comfortable long stops is what you care about most, because once assuming lounge access is simple without checking rules kicks in the stress rises fast.

My rule for a 6-8 hour stop is one main activity, one decent meal, and a very conservative buffer back through security.

If you are even slightly unsure, I would bias toward a calm airport routine and save the city run for a longer layover in Abu Dhabi.
