How do you survive an overnight layover at Hong Kong International?

I have an overnight connection coming up at Hong Kong International and I want to avoid the usual pattern of a bad meal, terrible sleep, and feeling useless on arrival.

The airport seems promising because of fast airport express, but I know trying to do too much in the city can still make the stop much rougher than expected.

What would you pack, book, or prioritize to make an overnight in Hong Kong actually manageable?

My overnight kit is always the same: eye mask, earplugs, toothbrush, charger, backup snack, and one layer that makes bad air-conditioning less miserable.

If fast airport express is real at HKG, I would build the whole stop around rest quality first and food second.

The biggest overnight mistake is pretending you can improvise sleep once you land. Pick the rest plan before the first flight even departs.

Even a mediocre hotel or sleep pod can be worth it if the next day in Hong Kong matters at all.
