Would you book a connection through CDG on purpose over a tighter routing?

I am comparing two itineraries and one of them connects through Charles de Gaulle with a longer stop.

The appeal is strong long-haul connections plus plenty of route options. The hesitation is terminal complexity.

Would you intentionally route through Paris if the total trip time was a bit longer but the layover quality looked much better?

I would absolutely choose CDG on purpose if the airport quality meaningfully lowers the chance of a chaotic connection day.

The best itinerary is not always the shortest one. Sometimes the calmer hub is worth far more than the saved hour on paper.

That said, if terminal complexity is tied to the season or the exact bank of flights you are using, I would model that before committing.

A longer routing only wins when the extra time actually buys comfort, flexibility, or a better recovery window.
