Costa Rica for wildlife, 100%. More diverse ecosystems and better infrastructure.

Panama is less touristy and cheaper. Bocas del Toro islands are stunning.

Costa Rica is more developed for tourism. Easier for first-timers.

Why not both? You can do a week in each with a quick flight between them.
