The Mellah quarter is a small group of streets located a stone’s throw from the medina, next to the monumental Bahia Palace. Today it’s inhabited by hundereds Jews, but between the 16th and 20th centuries it was home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the country, made up mainly of Jews who had been expelled from the Iberian Peninsula and other European territories.

During this guided tour, we will explore these vibrant souk areas and uncover Marrakech’s rich artisanal heritage, including a visit to a local herbalist. Learn about traditional Moroccan remedies, aromatic herbs, spices, and natural products while gaining insight into the skills, traditions, and craftsmanship that have defined the city for centuries.

We’ll meet at a central point in the city, then head to our first stop a lively local bar featuring authentic live music. It’s a great chance to experience how locals celebrate and to taste Moroccan wine and beer.

Next, we’ll visit one of the city’s top nightlife spots a stylish club THEATRO featuring the best live band in town, guaranteed to get everyone dancing. The venue also includes a casino and hookah lounge, making it a favorite hangout for both locals and visitors.

We will start by visiting the workshops of local artisans (leather goods, blacksmiths, carpenters, dyers, etc. and many others). We will visit some of the best showrooms, bazaars and shops, to discover the best products of our crafts, which one cannot find at first glance! From furniture to jewelry, lamps, accessories, rugs and Caftan… everything is in this one-of-a-kind tour!

The dyers' souk is located in the Medina, near the Mouassine spring and the mosque of the same name, in the western half of the tangle of streets. Although this souk lost its activity several years ago with the increasing use of industrial dyes, you can still see some small workshops where traditional dyeing is still practiced.

Considered the main artery of the souks of the Medina, Souk Semmarine is accessible from Place Jemaa El Fna, in a derb (medina alley) of the same name. A name that it takes from the farriers who once occupied this strategic place to shoe the animals of the caravanners, while the latter did their usual shopping. Today, the Souk Semmarine is a very colorful shopping avenue where you can find mainly merchants of fabrics, souvenirs, crafts but also unique addresses for Moroccan antiques. It represents the entrance to the specialized souks: spices, carpets, fabrics, slippers... A veritable Ali Baba's cave.

1 - Hidden Alleys of Marrakech After visiting the mosque, venture into the labyrinthine alleys of the medina. I will lead you through lesser-known paths, where you can experience the authentic atmosphere of the city. 3 - Berber Pharmacy (Herborist) Visit a traditional Berber pharmacy, known for its natural remedies and herbal products. Here, you'll learn about the various herbs and oils used in Moroccan medicine, and you might even have the chance to purchase some unique products.
