The most efficient way to travel between New Chitose Airport (CTS) and downtown Sapporo is the JR 'Rapid Airport' train, which runs every 12-15 minutes and takes approximately 37–40 minutes to reach Sapporo Station. Limousine buses are also available, taking about 60–80 minutes depending on traffic, and are convenient if you have heavy luggage going directly to major hotels. Within the city, the Sapporo Subway system (three lines) and the iconic streetcar (tram) in the southwest area are easy to navigate. Taxis are plentiful but expensive for long distances.
