Layover Guide

St. Kitts

A layover in St. Kitts is a delightful surprise, offering a blend of Caribbean charm and colonial history just minutes from the runway. Unlike the sprawling terminals you might find during a London Layover Guide or a Singapore Layover Guide, Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) provides an intimate and efficient gateway to the island. Whether you have a few hours to browse duty-free or a full day to explore the UNESCO-listed Brimstone Hill Fortress, managing your time is easy here. To stay ahead of your schedule, you can Track your St. Kitts flight path on Borderly to see real-time updates on your arrival and departure. While SKB serves as a vital hub for the Eastern Caribbean, its proximity to Basseterre means you can experience the local culture much faster than you would on a New York Layover Guide stopover. From the lush hills to the turquoise waters of Frigate Bay, St. Kitts turns a wait into a mini-vacation.

Just did this exact layover last week! A few tips: definitely take the express train instead of cab, it saves about 45 mins. Also make sure...

Make Every Minute Count

Managing Your Time at SKB

St. Kitts is a compact island, which is a major advantage for layovers. It takes only 10 minutes to reach the city and 15-20 minutes to reach major beaches. However, leave at least 90 minutes to 2 hours for security and check-in upon your return to Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, especially during peak afternoon hours when multiple international flights depart. Always factor in potential traffic around Basseterre during school pickup hours (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM).
